As of July 28th, Washington State has added a new 564 area code to its existing 206, 253, 360, and 425 prefixes. The 564 area code has been implemented in order to support the demand for new phone numbers.
What does this mean?
All those located in Western Washington with area codes 206, 253, 360, 425, and 564 will be required to dial full ten-digit phone numbers (area code required).
As expected, this change has many implications outside the scope of basic dialing procedures (voicemail services, medical alert devices, etc). We are aware many service providers have recommended alarm security customers check-in with their alarm security company.
So, what does this mean as a Sonitrol Pacific client?
- Sonitrol Pacific systems and our Verification Center uses 10-digit numbers by default. No reprogramming should be needed.
- If you are at all concerned with the information we have on file, please feel free to confirm with us.
