If you regularly read the Sonitrol Pacific blog you know I moved into my first house this summer. Before buying the house, I was living in an apartment. When I moved in, the building owner told me she had all the locks changed when the previous tenant moved out. However, I just learned the night after I left, someone used a key to get in and take all the appliances. Clearly the locks were not changed before I moved in, the building owner had no idea who had access to my home and I was vulnerable to someone with a key during entire tenure there.
I am now on a mission to persuade anyone living in a rental of any kind (apartment, condo, loft, work studio), demand access control.
