Police caught three juveniles suspected of being intoxicated and trespassing at a Puget Sound area school after Sonitrol Pacific’s audio security system detected threatening noises outside the school December 21.
Operator Bricia Mejia received an impact-activated audio alert from an upstairs hallway inside the school a little after 7:00 p.m. She heard voices that sounded like they were coming from outside the school and called the district’s guard service.
The security guard located three kids “all wasted out of their minds” on school property. He called Tacoma Police. Police detained the juveniles, then released them to their parents’ custody.
The kids never got into the school. Sonitrol Pacific’s audio security sensors detected them anyway and they were caught before injury or damage occurred.
