Police arrested two suspected school vandals after Sonitrol Pacific’s security system detected the threat and the monitoring operator called police February 12.

Jessica Culver received an impact-activated audio security sensor alert from the school a little before 5:00 a.m. She heard crashing noises and called police. Moments later, more alerts came into the Verification Center and Culver kept police updated on the activity. Soon, she heard officers arrive at the school.

Police located one young man and took him into custody. He gave police the name of a second person; officers located and took him into custody as well.

According to police, the two juveniles ripped down gutters and did other damage outside the building. Evidence indicated they did not get inside the school.

The school district’s facilities supervisor said he was extremely happy with the fast response by Culver and that her actions ensured the two suspected vandals did not get away with their actions.
