A Sonitrol Pacific school security system detected threatening activity near a portable classroom and dispatched a security guard to catch a suspected vandal May 22.

Monitoring Operator Robin Goings was monitoring the school’s Sonitrol Pacific account when he received system alerts from a portable classroom.  He also received indication of activity around the main school building.  Goings called the school district’s security guard service to investigate.

The security guard found a broken window and several kids at the school.  After being questioned, one of the kids told the guard who was responsible for breaking the window.

Tacoma Police were called.  The suspected vandal was detained, then released to his aunt.
