A February 16 story on Q13 Fox News tells the tale of business owners who thought their business was protected from crime by a security camera system only to learn, through the experience of 13 burglaries, that a non-monitored system only makes a movie of a burglary with no way for police to find the suspected perpetrator.
Video surveillance is not akin to making a home movie. To truly be effective, security camera systems need to be designed, installed and monitored by security experts.
As the story of the South End Seattle serial burglar demonstrates, an investment in cameras does not ensure security, deterrence or a means of identifying and arrested suspects. Live monitoring by verification experts delivers the most comprehensive security. Operators call police immediately when they see suspicious activity and officers respond quickly to verified alarms. The result: suspects arrested, stolen property returned.
