Sonitrol Pacific security audio of faint taps and sounds of movement inside a Puget Sound area school led a burglar alarm verification expert to call police and police to arrest one August 7.
Monitoring Operator Jessica Culver received the security system activation from the school around 2:30 a.m. She heard faint taps followed by sounds of movement and called Everett Police. Continuing to listen to live security audio while police were on their way, Culver heard the footsteps of someone running through the school’s halls.
Officers arrived at the school less than five minutes after receiving Culver’s call. They located and arrested a suspected vandal who got into the school through a broken window.
According to officers, the suspect wrote on school walls and attempted to vandalize computers, but he was caught before any further damage was done or anything was stolen.
