Just before 1 a.m. on July 28, Jessica Culver was alerted to loud crashing, breaking glass and sounds of movement from the office area of the Public Recycling Center in Puyallup, Wash. Jessica immediately dispatched the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department and alerted the site’s emergency contacts. While police were en route, Jessica was notified of a tripped door alarm.
Exactly six minutes after being dispatched, four police officers were on the scene. They caught the intruder red-handed outside the building, carrying a laptop. Police asked the center’s emergency contact if he recognized the laptop. Turns out, he more than just recognized it—he said, “That’s the computer I used to have on my desk!”
Police arrested the burglar and cited him for multiple offenses.
