Former employee caught by audio security

Chelsea Mitchell Arrests & Apprehensions

A former employee of a marine equipment repair company was caught attempting to burglarize the shop after Sonitrol Pacific detected the break-in and called police April 22.

Operator Kris Etheridge (pictured) was monitoring the shop’s Sonitrol Pacific security system when the audio detection sensors activated.  She heard what sounded like something falling over followed by sounds of movement and called police.  Etheridge continued to listen to live audio while police were on their way and heard a dinging noise like a car door left open with the keys in the ignition.

Officers arrived at the business and used a police dog to search the building.  A former employee was caught holding keys to one of the business’ vehicles.

According to a representative from the business, the suspect broke into the shop through a bay door.
