Sonitrol Pacific Break Ins

Pharmacy Theft Attempts End in Arrests

Live security audio of a burglary in progress at an Everett pharmacy allowed police to arrest two suspects and recover stolen drugs. A Sonitrol Pacific Operator received an activation of the audio security sensors inside the Community Health Center of Snohomish County’s Everett Pharmacy. The Operator heard what sounded like a saw followed by movement noises and called Everett Police. While officers were on their way, our Operator could hear the rattle of pill bottles, heavy breathing and whispering. When officers arrived at the pharmacy, they could see one suspect inside and ordered him to come out. The man surrendered. Police found a second man inside. All the drugs, including narcotics, that had been gathered to take from the pharmacy were recovered. The center is undergoing construction and the pharmacy is in a temporary facility. According to police, the men squeezed under the trailer’s skirting and used a chain saw to cut a hole in the floor. Sonitrol Pacific’s sound based security monitored by an expert led to a fast, verified detection of the break-in and the police making arrests.
