Police caught a suspect in the act of taking cigarettes and alcohol from a Boise area grocery store after Sonitrol Pacific detected the break-in on June 27.
Just after 12:30 a.m., Monitoring Operator Joe Orsborn (pictured) heard sounds of movement through the store’s Sonitrol Pacific audio security system and called police.
Nampa Police responded quickly to the verified alarm and saw a man inside the store. The suspected burglar surrendered once officers informed him a police dog would be sent in to track him down. A backpack with cigarettes and alcohol was located and the man was arrested.
According to the store owner, the man broke in by prying away boards covering an area of the store under construction. She believes the man had previously been caught shoplifting from her store.
