Boise Police are asking the public’s help in solving a theft involving two commercial air conditioning units, both have a total value of more than $24,000.

What Happened:
According to information given to Boise Police, on May 22, 2010 at 1:45 in the afternoon, several suspects loaded two 900 pound commercial air conditioning units into the back of an older model tan pick up truck.

The thefts occurred in the area of Vista Ave and Elder St, just north of the interstate. The theft had to involve several people to lift the 900 pound units into the truck.  The suspects made two separate trips within a three hour time period in broad daylight to commit the crime.  These are unique items that take special equipment to install and should be easily recognizable to a commercial recycling operator.

Suspect Vehicle: The pick up truck is described as a late model single cab truck that is tan with a white cab.  It also may have a brown tool box in the truck bed.

Seeking Information: Boise Police property crimes detectives are asking employees of companies that install this type of roof top air conditioner, any commercial recycler, and the public to to take a look at pictures of the suspect vehicle. If anyone believes they may recognize the truck, they’re urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 343-COPS, or log onto www.343cops.com, or text CRIMES or 274637.
