Scheme to avoid detection can’t trump audio security
A police dog was used to track down three suspected burglars inside a Washington school after Sonitrol Pacific security detected a break-in in progress October 4.
Operator Tara Fulmer received alarms from the school, heard people talking followed by other loud noises through the audio security sensors, and called police. Fulmer could hear the individuals discussing the importance of not touching doors in order to avoid detection. They were oblivious the school’s audio security system already gave them away.
Military police responded to the dispatch, surrounded the school and waited for a K9 unit to arrive. Once the police dog was on scene, three suspects were promptly located and taken into custody.
