Attempt to Destroy Audio Sensor Leads to Arrest

A suspected burglar attempted to circumvent Azteca’s Sonitrol Pacific security system, but the audio sensors “heard” him, police were dispatched and he was arrested October 16.
Sonitrol Pacific Operator Kris Etheridge received signal activations from Azteca and immediately called police due to recent criminal activity at the restaurant.  While officers were en route, Etheridge listened to real-time audio and heard movement inside the building.
Police arrived and arrested one suspected intruder.
An investigation of the event found the suspect tried to rip an audio sensor off the wall in a futile attempt to evade detection.  However, the sensor captured the noises he made while doing this and the fast response by Etheridge and Seattle Police ensured his ultimate capture.
