Operator ‘hears’ suspect, deputies arrest

Sonitrol Pacific audio sensors detected activity at a Washington middle school and the monitoring operator sent sheriff’s deputies to arrest one May 24.
Operator Joe Orsborn received an impact activated alarm from the school’s campus supervisor office, possibly caused by glass breaking.  He listened to real-time audio to verify the alarm, heard sounds of movement and dispatched Pierce County Sheriff’s Deputies.
Officers suspected a homeless man they located on school property was responsible for activating the security system and took him into custody.
