Sonitrol Pacific “Hears” Intruder
Police arrested one suspected intruder at a local elementary school after a Sonitrol Pacific security operator heard suspicious activity through real-time audio sensors May 18.
As an experienced sound analyst, the operator knew immediately something was amiss when he received the impact activated alarm. He listened to real-time audio from sensors at the school and heard loud bangs and sounds of breakage. The operator dispatched the school district’s guard service and the local sheriff’s department.
Officers arrived at the school just in time to see a young man starting to run away. They promptly caught up with him and took him into custody.
In 2008, 178 suspects were arrested thanks to detection by Sonitrol Pacific. Our security is designed for the earliest possible detection and maximum protection of our clients.
