Propped door allows entry, Sonitrol Pacific ensures exit
Four people got inside a Tacoma area grade school through a door left propped open, but they were caught after Sonitrol Pacific security detected them June 15.
Operator Bricia Mejia received an alert from one of the school’s gym doors  just before 10:00 p.m.  This signal was quickly followed by several more activations and Mejia called police.
Police found four high school age kids inside the grade school and took them into custody.
According to police, the four propped open a door earlier in the evening and used that door to get inside when they returned.
On June 15, Mejia’s actions resulted in a total of 12 apprehensions at three different Tacoma area schools in less than four hours.  Even by Sonitrol Pacific standards, these are impressive statistics.
