Two Juveniles Earn ‘Warning’
Police caught two juveniles on top of an Oregon elementary school after suspicious activity was detected by Sonitrol Pacific security July 8.
A Sonitrol Pacific operator received a signal from the school’s roof hatch and listened to real-time audio to determine the nature of the activity. He heard a voice and sounds of movement and immediately dispatched police.
Officers arrived at the school quickly and found two juveniles on the roof. The police let the kids go with a warning because no damage was done to the school and the youths never went inside.
A representative from the school believes the early and verified detection by Sonitrol Pacific prevented the youths’ horseplay from becoming something malicious.
