Expert Detects Threatening Activity Outside Facility’s Protected Area
An expert Sonitrol Pacific security monitoring operator used audio sensor technology to detect suspicious activity and send police prior to two suspects getting inside the protected area of a window manufacturer July 6.
The operator received a system activation from the facility and listened to real-time audio to verify the nature of the detected activity. The operator heard suspicious sounds, sounds of movement and clattering noises, and immediately dispatched police.
Officers arrived at the facility and promptly took one individual into custody. A second suspect is believed to have evaded capture.
According to police, two suspects got inside an area of the facility not protected by Sonitrol Pacific and cut padlocks to several toolboxes. The suspects then made their way to the business’s lunchroom and broke into a vending machine.
Despite the break-in occurring in an area that doesn’t have Sonitrol Pacific’s audio sensors installed, the system detected the activity and the police responded.
