Emergency Alarm Yields Immediate Response

Police arrested a man suspected of fraud at a Washington credit union after responding to a Sonitrol Pacific emergency alert alarm July 28.

A highly trained Sonitrol Pacific operator received the emergency/hold up alarm from the credit union and immediately dispatched police. Officers surrounded the building within minutes and apprehended the suspect.

Credit Union employees suspected the man got $5,400 through fraudulent activity earlier in the day. The man left his debit card at the credit union, so employees gathered the evidence against him and called him to come back to pick it up. They called the police to be there to greet him when he arrived. However, the man returned to the credit union sooner than expected and the police had not yet arrived. The tellers were afraid the suspect would leave before officers got there and used their emergencyalarms to get immediate response.

In addition to the suspected fraud, the man had other multiple outstanding warrants.
