Two Arrested at Sonitrol Pacific Protected School
A police K-9 unit tracked down two suspected burglars of an area elementary school after a Sonitrol Pacific security operator alerted officers to an intrusion in progress January 27.

The expert operator received an impact-activated signal from the school and listened to real-time audio to verify the nature of the activity. She heard male voices and loud noises and immediately dispatched police.

Officers arrived at the school and found a broken window, but no signs of movement inside. Knowing Sonitrol Pacific’s commitment to verified and early detection, officers sent the K-9 unit in search of the suspects. The police dog took off into the woods hot on the suspects’ trail. Two individuals were rounded up and taken into custody.

In 2008, 178 suspects were arrested after their activity was detected by a Sonitrol Pacific security system.
