Audio activates, operator verifies, police give chase, arrest two
Due to a Sonitrol Pacific audio security system detection of suspicious noises, police arrested two men suspected making a hole in a warehouse wall to break in January 14.
Operator Jessica Culver received the building’s audio security impact-activated signal and heard crashing, banging and sounds of movement. She immediately called Nampa Police. Culver continued to monitor activity at the warehouse while police were on their way and received an alarm from a back door.
Police arrived at the warehouse and used a K9 unit to track down suspects. One was caught just outside the warehouse holding property from inside. A second suspect attempted to flee by car. Police gave chase and caught him. Both men were arrested. All the stolen items were returned.
According to police, the men peeled back the warehouse’s aluminum siding and broke a hole through the wall.
A representative from the business believes the two suspects were former employees who knew exactly where to find the items targeted to steal.
