Police Apprehend Suspect in High School Burglary
Officers took an individual into custody after a Sonitrol Pacific security operator alerted them of a break-in in progress at an area high school February 17.
The operator received an initial alarm signal from the student store door inside the school. When she listened to real-time audio to assess the nature of the activity, the operator heard sounds of movement and dispatched police.
Officers arrived very quickly on scene and used a police dog to track down one individual. Police found the student store’s cash registers empty and tossed on the floor, as well as, indications the man ate some pepperoni. Upon questioning, the man told officers he just wanted to find a glass of water.
Police arrested 178 suspects in 2008 after a call from Sonitrol Pacific.
