Operator’s Expertise Leads to One Arrest
An expert Sonitrol Pacific operator followed her instincts and it resulted in the arrest of a suspected trespasser at a Washington middle school December 3.
Operator Jaime Maranville received a signal activation from the school’s commons area just before 3 a.m. and listened to real-time audio to verify the nature of the activation.  Although Maranville didn’t hear any unusual noises, her experience and instincts told her something wasn’t right and she called the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Department.
Maranville continued to monitor audio from the school and within a few minutes she heard a deputy say, “Don’t move”.
Officers charged one person with criminal trespass and brought in a K9 unit to sweep the building.  Thanks to the fast response from Maranville and the sheriff’s deputies, nothing was taken and no damage was done to the school.
